Probably on a trending page or a blogging page, there would be a large print text saying "Trending Twitter"
This is the heading of a webpage and it is very similar to the title of the webpage but, it is visible to the user. Headings are very important to the visitors as it helps them understand what an article is about
What about SEO?
Heading are very important but, less important than title tags.
Google crawlers focuses on the <h1> tag the most. This is because, the <h1> has the highest power and weight compared to the other headings. Google crawlers will focus on your headings and there are some rules you need to follow
1. You must include a heading with <h1> tags
2. The heading must be similar to the title tag
3. The heading must have good keywords
4. There must be only one <h1> for the whole webpage. If you have more, this will damage your SEO
<h1>SEO Headings - How to master SEO<h1>
If you have followed these basic SEO rules for headings, then you have mastered the SEO headings
Another point to remember is that not to include to many <h2> tags. This is fine especially if your webpage needs sub headings to help the reader and visitors understand but, sometimes the google crawlers might identify them as spam and may not index your page
This is the same for stuffing irrelevent keywords on your webpage.
Google might not index them so it's a good idea to check if your webpage is indexed. This can be done using google search console
Never style a paragraph to act as a heading. This is a common error used to to replace the heading tags. You need to use headings for your webpages. So don't use <span> or <p> tags to replace heading
It is a useless method and it will definitely affect your website's SEO because, the seo crawlers doesn't focus much on the paragraphs. So your keywords will not be highlighted as much
Sometimes even the headings of the webpage can appear on google searches and search engines
Again if you misuse this feature and use it as clickbait, your visitors will not be happy so always be truthful when making headings and titles! It's better for your website in the long run and for your visitors and readers!
