What are better SEO friendly urls? The webpage you created is named by you and that is the name your visitors use to access the webpage. For example:
https://revisezone.com/Html/SEO/SEOUrls.html
Is the full web url for this webpage. It's better to use urls that visitors can easily remember and understand
Let's do a small comparison:
https://revisezone.com/Html/SEO/SEO_#1.html
or
https://revisezone.com/Html/SEO/SEOUrls.html
Which is more user friendly? The Second Url describes what the webpage is about to the user.
Always avoid numbers on your urls. It has no meaning to the user.
Avoid long Urls. It makes it harder to remember
Don't use under_scores in your urls
Well, it provides the same function to Google SEO also. It allows them to better understand your webpage
This is the same for image urls and for any other files linked to it. The best rule to remember is to always use meaningful variables and urls
This will also increase the number of direct searches ( Urls entered by the visitors ) so you will get more traffic to your website because, your urls are easy to remember!
The urls is a good place to highlight any keywords and it is a good place to enter it
If I enter a urls such as woorank.com, it will certainly match the domain name so it will be placed first. Likewise, when your urls have keywords which users usually search for, you have a higher chance of being on the first page of Google or any other search engine
There is another more advanced way of making more user and seo friendly urls. This is done by editing the htaccess file. We will see that in the next chapter
